Brian D. Sackett was born in November 1953 in Amsterdam, New York. He graduated from Johnstown High School in New York in 1971. He married Mary L. Stoppard in Niagara Falls, Ontario on June 5, 1976; has 3 daughters, Amanda, Lindsay and Lauren; has 3 grandchildren, Sydney, Cameron and Chloe. Mayor Sackett has been a resident of Longwood, since July 1989.
Mayor Sackett attended Windham College in Putney, Vermont receiving a Bachelor of Science Special Education Degree, Suma Cum Laude in 1978. He received his Master of Education-Mathematics and Science Degree, Suma Cum Laude from the University of Central Florida in 1994. Then, in 2000, he achieved National Board Certification as Middle Childhood Generalist at the University of Central Florida.
Mayor Sackett was Principal of Windham Elementary School in Vermont; teacher of Third and Fourth Grades at Pine Crest Elementary School in Sanford; teacher of Third and Fourth Grades at Wilson Elementary School in Sanford; and teacher of Fourth Grade, and at present, teacher of Fifth Grade at Woodlands Elementary School in Longwood.
Mayor Sackett’s professional memberships include PTAs, School Advisory Committees of Wilson Elementary, Woodlands Elementary and Lake Mary High School, National Board of Certified Teachers (County President and now as State and National Liaison), Seminole Education Association and former Adjunct Professor for University of Central Florida.
Among Mayor Sackett’s recognitions and awards are: Teacher of the Year numerous times; SCPS Foundation Grants in literature, Becky Bailey Discipline strategies and Science Strategies; Elected City Commissioner of Longwood, Florida from 2002 to the present; served as Deputy Mayor of Longwood in 2003; and elected Mayor in May 2008. Mayor Sackett became an ordained minister in March of 2006. |

Commissioner Michael “Mike” D. Holt, a native of Florida, grew up in East Orange County, graduating from Colonial High School. He and his wife, Pam, have three daughters; Jennifer, Michelle and Amanda. Amanda is still at home attending Lyman High School.
Commissioner Holt has lived in Seminole County for over twenty years and moved to Longwood in 1990. He is the owner of MIKE HOLT “AT YOUR SERVICE, INC.”, a home inspection, remodeling and carpentry service.
Commissioner Holt’s involvement in our community began at Longwood Elementary, where he served in several positions and two terms as president of the PTA Board.
Prior to his election as the District 3 Commissioner in 2003, Commissioner Holt served on the Longwood Parks and Recreation Advisory Board for 3 years; and currently represents the City of Longwood on the Community Alliance Board. He served as Deputy Mayor of the City of Longwood from November 2006 through November 2007.
Commissioner Holt is a member of Longwood Hills Congregational Church and serves as a Trustee. He is also a Trustee of the Central Florida Society for Historical Preservation. In addition, he is a precinct Committeeman of the Seminole County Republican Executive Committee and a member of the Ronald Reagan Republican Assembly. |

H. G. “Butch” Bundy, originally from North Carolina, has lived in the metropolitan Orlando area of Florida since 1978, settling in Longwood in 1990. Commissioner Bundy and his wife, Donna, have two daughters, Danielle and Emily. They have two grandchildren, Marcus and MacKenzie. Commissioner Bundy is a third generation ceramic tile contractor. He and his wife own a ceramic contracting business, Longwood Tile and Marble.
Commissioner Bundy is a resolute volunteer. His involvement with the Central Florida Society for Historical Preservation began with the Longwood Arts and Crafts Festival in 1997; and having served two terms as President, is currently Vice President and Chairman of the Corporate Outreach Committee. He can be found working at every event. Commissioner Bundy is a Committeeman for Precinct 72 for the Seminole County Republican Executive Committee and a charter member of the Ronald Reagan Republican Assembly, taking active roles in both whenever possible.
Having served since 1994, Commissioner Bundy was elected three years in succession as Chairman of Longwood’s Codes Enforcement Board before his first election to the Longwood City Commission in 1999. Commissioner Bundy served two terms as Mayor of Longwood, as well as on the Board of Directors of the Seminole County Regional Chamber of Commerce, Envision Seminole and Joint City/County Advisory Committee. Commissioner Bundy has also served as both Chairman and Vice Chair of the Seminole County Mayors and Managers Committee. Currently, Commissioner Bundy is also on the Florida League of Cities Municipal Services Committee.

John Bush graduated from Indiana State University with a B.S. in Education, M.S. in Mathematics and Ph. D. in Guidance and Psychological Services. He was elected Mayor of Winter Springs in 1993. During his tenure as Mayor the city started the planning of the Town Center, the Fourth of July Celebration, the beautification of State Road 434, and was instrumental in keeping the taxes in Winter Springs the lowest in Seminole County. He quickly became one of the most respected Mayors in the history of Winter Springs.
After working as Director of Admissions and University Registrar for the University of Central Florida, John became a software consultant to universities and colleges. He has worked for IBM, PeopleSoft, and CIBER corporations. He currently works part-time as an independent software consultant to universities and colleges. John also serves as an unpaid administrator for the First Baptist Church of Winter Springs. John serves on the executive board of the Seminole Work Opportunity Program, which serves the handicapped in Seminole County and the surrounding areas.
Recognized by the City Commission in 1996 for his outstanding leadership as mayor, John earned the respect of the citizens and the commission for his vision, leadership and integrity in city government.
John and his wife Kay are 26-year residents of Winter Springs. They have five children and six grandchildren. Daughter, Kelly Thompson, is Assistant Principal at Hagerty High School in Oviedo and daughter, Pamela Lynch, teaches French and German at Hagerty High School in Oviedo. Son, Mark, works at the Seminole Work Opportunity Program (SWOP) wood shop, son, Ryan lives and works in Ft. Collins, Colorado, and son, Michael, lives and works in Centralia, Illinois. Kay is a retired high school assistant principal at Lyman High School and was instrumental in starting the International Baccalaureate Program in the Seminole County Schools.

Gary Bonner is the owner of Global Professional Business Services, a company specializing in Advertising, Marketing and Business Planning services. Gary is also a partner in RB², a boutique advertising agency which specializes at improving retail performance. Prior to this, Gary spent 22 years in the wireless telecommunications industry, with AT&T Mobility, Cingular Wireless and BellSouth Mobility in executive leadership roles.
Gary a member of Rotary International, a graduate and volunteer of Leadership Seminole (class of ’97), a graduate of Leadership Orlando (class of ’02), a Board Member of the Seminole County Boys & Girls Clubs, a Board Member of the Winter Springs Festival of the Arts, a Board Member of Seminole Behavioral Health Center plus volunteers at his church and youth organizations. Past service includes Board Member of the Halifax Chamber of Commerce, Board Member of Enterprise Volusia County, Board Member of Enterprise Flagler County, Board Member of Economic Development Commission of Brevard County.
A 1981 graduate of the University of Florida, earning a BS in Business, and a 2004 graduate from the Crummer School of Business at Rollins College, earning an MBA, Gary resides in Winter Springs, Florida, with his wife, Leslie, and son, Tyler.

Commissioner Jon Miller was elected to his first term in November 2006, and works as an independent political consultant. He is the President and Founder of the Rotary Alliance of Central Florida, and is a member of the Casselberry Chamber of Commerce, the Rotary Club of Casselberry, and a proud sponsor of the Casselberry Little League. He is a former Chairman of the City's Board of Adjustment, served on the Board of Directors for Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Central Florida, was active in the Salvation Army's Family Focus Program. Commissioner Miller and his wife, Alice, have a son named Luke and a daughter named Brooke.
