Obituary
Jennifer C. Kelley
(1936-2009)
Jennifer C. Kelley of Sanford passed away on Sunday, March 29th, 2009 at age 72 after battling cancer. She was best known for her involvement in the community as a Seminole County Commissioner, political activist and as a well-loved teacher for over 20 years.
Jennifer was the daughter of Harold and Genevieve Castello. She was born September 1,1936 in Ann Arbor, Michigan and later moved to Eau Gallie, Florida. She was a student of music and a graduate of Barry University where she was also crowned Miss Barry University.
After college, she married Eoghan N. Kelley and together they raised four
children. Jennifer taught high school music and later obtained her Masters Degree and taught humanities. She eventually left teaching and joined her husband with his
architectural practice. In 1988, she was elected and served as a Seminole County
Commissioner. Afterwards, she contributed to local politics and community service as a member of the Republican Women’s Club of Seminole County where she served as
President.
She was devoted to helping her friends, neighbors and her community
whenever she could. But most of all Jennifer deeply loved and supported her family.
More than anything, she enjoyed holiday gatherings and time shared together with her family where she loved to laugh and tell stories. Her family was by her side when she was united with God and words cannot express how deeply she will be missed.
Jennifer is survived by Eoghan N. Kelley; son and daughter-in-law, Christopher E. and
